OUR HOME IS YOUR HOME

Villa Nomad is an old stone house built in 1950. in times when it was essencial and most important to have a „konoba“. A room on the ground floor used for storing precious gifts from nature brought after a year long work in a field- vine, rakia and olive oil. That was a place with thick stone walls keeping the warmth in winter days and making it cool during the summer heat. Next to the wooden barrels were hoes, shovels and other tools for cultivating the rough and rocky soil of Dalmatia. But that was not all, the ever so important was a wooden table where friends would sit together after a long day of work in the field, they would share a jug of vine, they would tell stories, tease one another, laugh, play cards and always sing.

When we enter the house, many years later, the place was empty from people but everything else was still there and we could almost smell the vine and see them all around the table.

We lived and worked in many places around the world. Looking back, the first steps of the way could be explained as an urge to migrate, to quest, to go on a journey and later on the time revealed the true nomadism of our nature. We loved the oportunity to explore new people, new places and concepts and we embraced the differencies as something essential and exciting. But one part of us was always home, in that blue Adriatic sea, in that wind that clears your body and soul and in that sun that always keeps your heart warm. So, we brought our dear memories, the places that left traces on our life, the spirits of the world to our home and expressed it through design of a refurbished “konoba” house.

Come, go on a journey with us and feel the warmth of Kenya, the orient of Morocco, the exotics of Thailand, the mystery of Afghanistan, the calmness of Bali and come back to the blueness of Dalmatia.

The barrels and heavy tools are not there anymore but the wooden table is, waiting for you to share it with your family and friends.
